William David Bonham

William D. Bonham, 84, retired shipping and receiving clerk for Certainteed Corp., died on Thursday (Jan. 6, 2011) at Halstead Health and Rehabilitation.

He was born on Aug. 17, 1926, in Enid, Okla., to Luther and Ada Mae (Cozart) Bonham. On July 7, 1959, he married Elsie Jane Bonham in Hoisington, and she preceded him in death on April 25, 2006. He was a member of Halstead Baptist Church.

He is survived by sons, Dennis Bonham of Wichita and Richard Bonham of Columbia, Tenn.; daughters, Debra (Robert) Hulsey of McPherson, Karen Bonham of Wichita and Angie (David) Schmidt of Bentley; sisters, Betty Davis and Lura Mae Carlson of Arkansas City; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Bonham; daughter, Virginia Duran; brothers, Earl and Roy Bonham; and a sister, Katherine Wilkey.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead. Pastor Chris Stephens will officiate. Memorials may be given to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in care of Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead.
