A Burrton man was taken to a Wichita hospital early Friday evening after he lost control of his motorcycle. Jeffrey Ewert, 53, was northbound on I-135 about 6:30 p.m. He was traveling at a high rate of speed when he attempted to exit on westbound U.S. 50, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. Ewert lost control of the motorcycle, left the roadway and ended up in the ditch. He was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Ewert was not wearing a helmet, the patrol reported.
