Daugherty, Wilhelmina

Wilhelmina “Mina” Daugherty, 90, died on Wednesday (Jan. 12, 2011) at Sedgwick Healthcare Center in Sedgwick.
She was born on Nov. 10, 1920, in Lincoln to Charley and Anna G. (Selmon) Clark.

On Aug. 22, 1942, she married Wendell R. Daugherty, and he preceded her in death. She attended Friends University in Wichita and majored in business administration. She was an accountant and worked at Newton Public Library until her retirement in 1990. She also worked at Sears and was an Avon representative. Mina enjoyed her roses and working in the garden. She also spent time reading her Bible and in prayer. Her family was very important to her, and she looked forward to spending time with her loving family and many friends.

She is survived by her son, Rod Daugherty of Newton; daughter, Mariann and Steven Tedder of Allen, Texas; brother, Robert Clark of Oklahoma; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Helen Bennett and June Creed.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in Newton. Chaplain Denny Bell will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery in Newton. Memorials may be left with Disabled American Veterans in care of Petersen Funeral Home in Newton.
