GUYMON, Okla. -- Hildred Denney, 81, died April 21, 2001, at Memorial Hospital in Texas County, Okla.
She was born May 18, 1919, to Edith Grace (Smith) and J.M. Nevergall [Nebergall] in Newton. She married L.D. "Bud" Denney Aug. 1, 1937, in Hesston. He survives.
She made her home in Guymon, Okla., in 1951 and owned and operated Denney's Dine-A-Teria for many years. She retired in 1973 and moved to Arizona. She had most recently returned to Guymon in November 2000. She was an avid golfer, bridge player and was responsible for naming a city street in Guymon, Sunset Drive. She was a member of First Christian Church and the Guymon Order of the Eastern Star.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Brenda Boomer of Littlefield, Texas, and Sandy Campbell of Junction City; two sons, Mike Denney of Guymon and Jon Robert Denney of Oklahoma City; a sister, Peggy Hamm of Bella Vista, Ark.; three brothers, Russ Nebergall of Hesston, Jim Nebergall of Lawrence and Pres Nebergall of Wichita; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two step grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with the Ladies' Golf Association in care of Wanda Grider, 6022 Sunset Drive, Guymon, OK 73942 and Guymon Home Health and Hospice, 314 Northridge Circle, Guymon, OK 73942.
