Elmer O. Whitesell, 74 of 128 E. 9th died Thursday evening at Friendly acres.
Mr. Whitesell was born Feb. 29, 1893 in Cropsy, Ill., the son of William and Martha Whitesell and had lived in Newton community most of his life. A retired farmer, he farmed south east of Newton for many years.

He was a member of Ist Methodist Church and Newton Masonic Lodge.
He was married March 31, 1918 to Dorothy Spangler in Newton. She died Sept. 6, 1964.
Survivors include a daughter Mrs. Frank [Ramona] Hutchison of Austin, Tex.; on son, Bill of Almagordo, N. M.
