NORTH NEWTON — Margaret E. White, 90, of North Newton died Friday (March 5, 2010) at Kidron Bethel Healthcare in North Newton.

She was born on Oct. 18, 1919, in Newton to James Ward and Mary Ellen (Reber) Spangler. On Oct. 11, 1938, she married Clement E. White. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1993.

Margaret was an active member of Salem United Methodist Church in Newton. She was a homemaker and retired medical assistant for Bethel Clinic. Margaret enjoyed tending flowers and was an accomplished seamstress. She also enjoyed creating ceramics and taught ceramics classes at Kidron Bethel. Family was important to Margaret, and she greatly looked forward to spending time with her loving family and many friends.

Survivors include: sons, Bruce White of Newton and Larry White of Cincinnati; daughters, Donna Lehner of Los Alamos, N.M., and Kathy Young of Estes Park, Colo.; brother, Frank Spangler of Newton; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Williams; parents; and a brother, Louis Spangler.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton with the family receiving friends from 2 to 4 p.m.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Salem United Methodist Church with Chaplain Debbie Schmidt of Kidron Bethel Village in North Newton officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
