Obituary

Elinor Dee Parks, 78, died Tuesday (Sept. 21, 2004) at Via Christi-St. Francis campus in Wichita.

She was born Dec. 18, 1925, to Emanuel and Esther P. (Suenram) Roth in Moundridge. She married Robert M. "Bob" Parks Jan. 30, 1943, in Hutchinson. He survives of Newton. She had been a resident of Newton 35 years, moving from Moundridge. She graduated from Moundridge High School in 1943. She had been a sales clerk at Katherine's in Newton for 31 years. She was a member United Methodist Church in Moundridge.

Other survivors include: a daughter, Roberta "Bobbi" Parks of Newton; a brother, Earl R. Roth of Moundridge; a sister, Lora L. Tinkler of Augusta; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Roth Parks.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 23) with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Moundridge Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday (Sept. 24) at the United Methodist Church in Moundridge with Pastor Jeanine Rishel officiating. Burial will be in Mound Township Cemetery in Moundridge. Memorials have been established with Moundridge United Methodist Church and Newton Humane Society, both in care of the funeral home, 115 E. Cole, Box 410, Moundridge, KS 67107.
