Koehn, Loel



Loel Koehn, 70, died Sunday (May 15, 2005) at his residence in Hutchinson. He was born Aug. 8, 1934, to Tobe and Josephine Koehn. He married Betty Lorraine Kasper Dec. 30, 1974, in Newton. She survives. A resident of Hutchinson, previously of Newton, he was a retired machinist from Keys Manufacturing in Newton. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. Other survivors include: two daughters, Debi Kasper of Hutchinson and Nancy Riner of Wichita; a brother, Claude Koehn of Marquette; three sisters, Virgie, Jean and Fern Koehn of Moundridge; a granddaughter, Ashley Alvarez; and two great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by: six brothers, Oren, Oscar, Harvey, Ray, Lee, Eldon and Howard Koehn; and a sister, Lois Koehn. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday (May 17) and Wednesday (May 18) at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home & Crematory in Hutchinson. A private funeral service will be at a later date. Cremation will follow the service. Memorials have been established with Hospice of Reno County in care of the funeral home, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS 67502.
