Lehman, Henrietta

Henrietta Ada Lehman, 100, lifelong area resident, died on Tuesday (Feb. 1, 2011) at Halstead Health and Rehabilitation in Halstead.
She was born on Oct. 13, 1910, in Zimmerdale to Albert J. and Ella (White) McFarlane. She attended rural schools and received teaching certification from Hesston College in 1928. She taught four years at District 47 north of Halstead. On May 1, 1932, she married Floyd Arthur Lehman in Zimmerdale. They farmed north of Halstead for 54 years. They retired in 1986 and moved to Halstead. He died on June 8, 1988. After retirement she enjoyed her flowers, quilting, handwork, reading and collecting dolls.
Survivors include daughter, Ellen (Bernie) Klover of Halstead; granddaughter, Jana Atchison of Kearney, Neb.; grandson, John (Ginger) Klover of Alma, Colo.; great-grandson, Tyler Atchison; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Jay, Andrew and Dwight Lehman and sisters, Mabel Boller, Lillian Lukensmeyer, Fayanna Zimmerman and MaDonna White.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead, with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. A private family interment will be in Halstead Cemetery. The Rev. Peter Hartman will officiate. Memorials may be given to Halstead Historical Society or Hospice Care of Kansas in care of Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead.
