Mrs. Alice Jane hand, wife of Samuel P. Hand, of 604 west Sixth street, passed away this morning Nov. 27, at 12:25, at Bethel hospital, where she had been for treatment.

Mrs. hand was born in Knox county, Ill., March 30, 1861, and was 78 years, seven months and 27 days of age. She resided in Wichita before becoming the wife of Mr. hand, and the home has been here in Newton for nearly nineteen years.

Besides her husband she leaves the following children: Mrs. Margaret Jackson, Wichita; Fred C. Shulley, Denver, Colo.; William D. Shulley, Emoporia, Kans.; and J. E. Shulley, Wichita. Also a sister, Mrs. Ella Ramp, York, Neb.

Funeral services will be conducted, Wednesday, Nov 29, at 2:30 p.m., at the Moody-Hinitt Funeral chapel, with the Rev. W. J. Shull, officiating. Burial will be made in the family lot in Greenwood cemetery.
