Obituary

Sylvia Ruth (Andres) Jantz, 80, passed away on Tuesday (Feb. 8, 2011).

She was born in Newton to Peter Cornelius Andres and Anna (Richert) Andres. She was a retired elementary school teacher, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

She is survived by her husband, Wallace Jantz; sons, Jeff Jantz and wife, Teresa of Durango, Colo., and Tim Jantz and wife, Melissa of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Cristina Jantz, Steven Jantz, Michael Jantz and Ethan Jantz; brothers, Eldon Andres of Peabody, and Homer Andres of Ferndale, Wash.; and sister, Della Wiebe of Colorado Springs, Colo. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Esther Mae McDonald.

Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today (Feb. 14). Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday (Feb. 15) at Hesston Mennonite Church, 309 S. Main St. in Hesston. Memorials may be designated to the Mennonite Central Committee in care of the Hesston Mennonite Church, 309 S. Main St., Hesston, KS 67062, and the Hesston College Music Department, Box 3000, Hesston, KS 67062. Baker Funeral Home in Valley Center is in charge of the arrangements.
