Obituary

Arlo W. Goossen, 68, passed away on Sunday (Feb. 13, 2011) in Wichita.

He was born on Oct. 10, 1942, in Goessel, the son of George J. and Marie Nickkel Goossen. He was employed by Excel Industries for more than 30 years and was a farmer.
On June 30, 1972, he married Billie McClary in Lehigh. She survives.

He is survived by sons, Tim (Cherie) of Hillsboro and Tony (Barb) of Andover; daughters, Stephanie (Lee) Richmond of Newton and Aimee (Jeff) Shaver of Hillsboro; brother, George J. Jr. of Hillsboro; sister, Gladys Thiessen of Newton; brother-in-law, Harold Regehr of Buhler; grandchildren, Ty Goossen, Jeremy Davis, Sandy Davis, Brenlyn Richmond, Patrick Adams, Valerie Shaver, Gordon Shaver and Baby Shaver; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Regehr.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday (Feb 18) at Miller-Ott Funeral Home in Goessel, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 19) at First Baptist Church, Sixth and Poplar streets in Newton. The Rev. Galen Penner will officiate. Burial will follow in Lehigh Cemetery in Lehigh. Memorials may be made to the Marion County 4-H fund, or the Grandchildren Education fund in care of Miller-Ott Funeral Home, 303 E. Main St., Goessel, KS 67053.
