Mr. Linnens was born Nov. 27, 1892 in Golden City, Missouri the son of George M. an Ellen Linnens. He had been engaged in painting and paper hanging since coming to Newton. The home is at 418 W. 5th.

He was married Feb. 28, 1948 at Wichita to Pearl Mae Brown, who survives. Mr. Linnens first wife and mother of his children, Wilsie Clemintine Hand, died in 1947.

In addition to the widow, survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Max (Ellen) DuFriend and Mrs. Eldon (Pauline) Thomas, both of Newton; one son Jack O. of Newport, R. I.; two step children, Rae Reichman of Rapid City, S. D., and Mrs. Lillian Herbst of Greely, Colo.; two sisters, Mrs. Robert B. Bentz of Newton and Mrs Amanda Schambron of Peabody; and a brother, Will Brown of Marion.
