Dorothy E. Thompson, 77, 1202 Harrison St., died today (June 2, 1994) at Friendly Acres Retirement Community.

She was born Sept. 5, 1916, in Henrietta, Okla., to John and Anna Johnson. She married Carl M. Thompson on April 10, 1936, in Hutchinson, He survives.

She was a homemaker and a member of First United Church of Christ in Newton. She attended school in Pawhuska, Okla., lived in Wichita and moved to Newton in 1938.

Other survivors include a daughter, Karla A. Balsamo of Louisville, Ky.; and two grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Restlawn Gardens of Memory in Newton with Rev. Christian Tirre of First United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Gardens of Memories.
