Viola Elizabeth Stout
Viola Elizabeth Stout, 81, of Newton, died Tuesday (Dec. 14, 1999) at Newton Medical Center.
She was born April 12, 1918, in Newton to Charles Fredrick and Mary Margaret (Clelland) Schill. She married Juell Cecil Stout May 6, 1936, in Wellington. He preceded her in death Dec. 3, 1983.
She and her husband managed rental houses in Newton and Wichita for many years.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Newton.
Survivors include: one son, Jerry Stout of Rose Hill; two brothers, John Schill and Bill Schill, both of Newton; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She also was preceded in death by one son, Donald Stout; one grandson, Randy Stout; five brothers and two sisters.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be 8 p.m. Thursday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home Chapel.
Graveside services and burial will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery with the Rev. Ken Schuckman from St. Mary's Catholic Church officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today, 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to noon Friday at Broadway Colonial Funeral.
Memorials have been established with American Diabetes Association and American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
