Gladys Ruth McClure
Gladys Ruth McClure, 78, of Mount Hope, homemaker, died Wednesday (Dec. 15, 1999) at Mount Hope Nursing Center.
She was born Feb. 10, 1921, in rural Harvey County to Leonard N. and Ethel (Werner) Westerman. She married Glen W. McClure Sept. 9, 1944, in Moundridge. He survives of the home. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and VFW Post No. 971 Auxiliary, both of Newton.
Other survivors include: one son, James McClure of Wichita; one daughter, Virginia Crawley of Silver Lake; two brothers, Referd Westerman of Moundridge and Marvin "Bus" Westerman of Burrton; three sisters, Velma Schmidt of Newton, Sherry Wedel of Hesston and Fern Unruh of Manhattan; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, Melvin Westerman; and a brother, Kenneth Westerman.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead with the Rev. James Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the Mound Township Cemetery in Moundridge. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Kaufman Funeral Home. Memorials have been established with the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home.
