Valerian W. Silhan
Valerian W. Silhan, 81, retired machinist, died Sunday (Dec. 26, 1999) at his home in Newton.
He was born Feb. 10, 1918, in Pilsen to Peter and Christina (Urbanek) Silhan.
He lived in Newton for 28 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during World War II. He was a Catholic.
Survivors include: three sisters, Magdalen Dvorak of Pilsen, Beatrice Riedy of Hope and Mildred Ireland of Hutchinson; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion with Father Steve Gronert officiating. Burial will be in the Pilsen Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
