Edward E. Cornelius, 78, former resident of Newton and the Whitewater community, passed away at his home in La Junta, Colo., Wednesday, March 31. Brief graveside services were held at the family lot in Greenwood Cemetery this afternoon at 2:30, with Rev. Forrest E. Rohl, pastor of the First Methodist Church officiating.

Mr. Cornelius is survived by the following children; Alva Cornelius, Washington, D. C.; Mrs. Goldie Boyce, Fredonia, Kansas, David Cornelius, Toledo, Ohio and Franklin M. Cornelius, Waverly, Kansas. Also one brother and three sisters. His wife Cora E. (Falk) preceded him in death by 30 years.
