HUTCHINSON -- Ruby M. Willinger, 87, of Hutchinson, died Friday (Dec. 3, 1999) at Hutchinson Hospital in Hutchinson.
She was born May 4, 1912, in Newton, the daughter of Jasper Levi and Laura Maude (Sturdevant) Scott.
Willinger, a longtime Hutchinson-area resident, was an employee of the Richard's-Scheble Candy Co., Woodwork Manufacturing, Mammel's Inc., owned and operated by Chicken Shack, Railway Cafe and Rayl's Nursing Home, all in Hutchinson.
She belonged to First Church of the Nazarene, was a Sunday school teacher of 2- and 3-year-olds, a member of the Grandma's Club and former member of the Kansas Nursing Home Association.
In 1931, she married Edmon Paul Carter in Hutchinson. He died March 13, 1976. She then married Henry "Hank" Willinger Feb. 9, 1978, in Hutchinson. He died Dec. 1, 1991.
Survivors include: a son, Dan Rayl of Grandview, Mo.; two daughters, Dixie Newell of Newton and Shirley Watson of Hutchinson; a sister, Lois Scott Rathbone of Fullerton, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-great grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Ralph, Chester, Harold, Lawrence and H. Raymond; and a sister, Ethel Glotta.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Church of the Nazarene in Hutchinson with the Rev. R. Kendall Franklin presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Johnson and Sons Funeral Home in Hutchinson.
Burial will be in the Fairlawn Burial Park in Hutchinson.
Memorials may be sent to American Cancer Society or the donor's choice, in care of Johnson and Sons Funeral Home in Hutchinson.
