Newton Kansan, Wednesday, January 7, 1976

George E. Fisher, 83, 415 E. 9th, died early today at Bethel Deaconess Hospital.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fred Spinder officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

He was born Feb. 6, 1892 in Florence, the son of William A. and Lucinda Fisher. He married Mary Reilman in 1913 at Wichita. They moved to Newton from Florence in 1915. He was a retired machinist for the Santa Fe Railroad.

Survivors, in addition to the widow, includes: two sons, Harold, Wichita, and Ralph, Seattle, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Reed and Mrs. Gertrude Wunderlich, both of Newton; two brothers, Ernest, Peabody, and Clyde, Valley Center. Three sons preceded him in death.
