She graduated from Newton High School and attended Emporia State Teachers College. She returned to Newton and taught at Cooper Elementary School for six years. Following her marriage to Elmer G. Brinkmeyer on Aug. 23, 1925, she and her husband served the Congregational and United Church of Christ Churches in Kansas, California, Nebraska and Iowa for 41 years. On child a son Eugene.
