Hudlow, Frank

The Burrton Free-Lance

Another Pioneer Gone

Frank Hudlow, a pioneer settler of this section, died unexpectedly at his home northwest of town, Monday evening, May 15th, of heart failure. Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday and the body laid to rest in the Burrton cemetery.

Mr. Hudlow was 55 years of age at the time of his death, having been born in 1855, at Minock, Illinois. At the age of 23 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Emerick. In 1879 they moved to this locality where deceased has since resided.

His death calls to mind the tragic fate of his wife who was burned to death in the fire that destroyed the Frisco rooming house in this city fifteen years ago. After her death Mr. Hudlow lived alone on his farm until about two years ago when Mr. and Mrs. Charles Macklin took up their residence with him - Mrs. Macklin and Mrs. Elmer Leamon being the only children of Mr. Hudlow.

Deceased had many friends in this locality, especially among the old settlers, who will join with this paper in extending sympathy to the bereaved daughters.
