Ellen Millen Brown Reber was born Sept. 1, 1867 at Morning Sun, Ohio and departed this life at the family residence December 7, 1933.
March 3, 1891 she was united in marriage to Harry E. Reber. In 1892 they came to Kansas and in 1899 moved to Harvey county where they have lived since.
Early in life she was converted and united with the United Presbyterian Church. A few years ago she transferred her membership to the First Methodist Episcopal Church of Newton where she has been a devoted, consistent member since, loyal to her Christ, her Church, and her family.
She was the mother of eight children, two of whom died in infancy. Those who survive to mourn their loss are her devoted husband and her sons, Walter, who lives at home, Henry , Gilbert and Earl; two daughters, Mrs. Ward Spangler, Mrs Dick Rose and their families, including nine grandchildren, besides a host of friends and relatives.
Funeral services were held in the First Methodist Church on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 9 at 2:30 o'clock, the Rev. Samuel Keller in charge. Interment was made in Greenwood cemetery by Henry J. Sprinker of the Sprinker mortuary.
