Obituary

R W George died Tuesday May 17, at 11 p.m. at the advanced age of 77 years. He had been a constant sufferer for three years but death was peaceful. He was an exemplary Christian man of a kind disposition and claimed the respect and esteem of friends and neighbors. He leaves an aged wife and three children to mourn his loss. The boys, W.A. and J.D., are residents of McLain, the girl, Mrs. Mary Shake, of Christian County Illinois. The funeral was held at the Methodist Episcopal Church in this city Thursday morning at 11 o'clock; the services were conducted by Rev. Sawin of the First Baptist Church of Newton, after which the remains were taken to Newton for burial. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community.
