Kansan, Friday, February 26, 1943

David Dudley Skelton, well known Newton colored barber died at 1:00 o'clock this morning at the veterans hospital in Wichita, where he had been since Feb. 9. The home is at 116 1/2 West Fourth street.

Mr. Skelton was a native Kansan, being born Dec. 14, 1884 at Cherokee. He had resided here 22 years. He is survived by his wife and two sons, C. J. Skelton of Kansas City, Mo., and Haywood Skelton in the U. S. army, stationed at Camp Clairborne, La.

He was a member of the Second Baptist church where funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 2, at 2:00 p.m., with the pastor Rev. M. C. Hooe in charge. Burial will be in the family lot in Greenwood cemetery.
