Obituary

Edna Stubby, 90, of Newton, died today (May 15, 2000) at Newton Medical Center. She was born Sept. 4, 1909, in Marion County to Fred W. and Adelene (Bessel) Unruh. She married Jacob Stubby April 2, 1927, in Lehigh. He preceded her in death March 22, 1973. She was former member of Lehigh Mennonite Church, transferring her membership to Newton. She enjoyed gardening. Other survivors include: two daughters, six sons, one brother, one sister, 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Lila Wasemiller; and two sisters, Sally Enns and Vila Pestlinger. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Koerner Heights Mennonite Brethren Church with the Rev. Mark Isaac officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Newton. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Petersen Funeral Home. Memorials have been established with Kansas Christian Home Fellowship of John in care of the funeral home.
