Hart, Sarah

The Burrton Breeze

The subject of this obituary was born in Ross county, in the state of Ohio, October 28th, 1833, and united with the Mehtodist Episcopal Church in the year 1850.

She was married to Charles D. Parker on May 16, 1855. To this union two daughters were born, both of whom are still living. On June 12, 1883, she was left a widow.

She moved to Harvey county, Kansas in the year 1884, and was married to her second husband, James B. Hart, on the 18th day of 1887, and with him united with the Christian Church in 1889, of which Church she died a consistent member.

She delighted in the works of truly Christian charity, and is gone on before her aged husband to reap the reward of the just. She died at her home in Hutchinson, December 24th 1901, at the age of 68 years 9 months and 6 days. The remains were brought to Burrton for interment. The funeral services were held at the Christian Church on Christmas afternoon, Rev. Hensley preaching the funeral sermon. The body was laid to rest in the Burrton Cemetery.
