Foushee, Louis

Kansan, Monday, December 5, 1960.

Louis W. Foushee, 77, retired Santa Fe Railway switchman, died Sunday at Bethel deaconess Hospital. He had been in failing health for several weeks.

Mr. Foushee who resided at 427 N. Walnut, was born Oct. 7, 1883 in Akron, Ky., and had lived in Newton for 48 years. His parents were Arthur and Mary Foushee.

He was married Oct. 17, 1934 at Marion to the former Helen Walker.

Mr. Foushee had been employed by the railroad for 45 years.

He was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, Newton Masonic Lodge, Consistory and Midian Shrine Lodge of Wichita and the brotherhood of Railway Trainmen.

In addition to his widow, survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Edmond (Maxine) Fisher of San Francisco, Calif.; one son, Louis Jr., of Burlingame, Calif.; one sister Dora Keever of Upland, Ind.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at St. Matthew's Church. The Rev. John B. Covey will officiate and burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. The body will lie in state at Draper's Funeral Home prior to the services.
