Obituary

Arthur B. Williams, 89, a pioneer resident of this community, died in Halstead Hospital March 6, 1960. Mr. Williams was born October 2, 1870, the son of William Lafayette and Virginia Ann Barnett Williams, and came to Harvey County at the age of five with his parents. He married Ella Cordelia Dodson, of Sedgwick on April 2, 1893. She died May 2, 1958. A son, Roland, of Topeka died February 20, 1960. Mr. Williams was a retired farmer.

Survivors include four sons: Oral T., Ulysses, Arthur W., Lawton, Okla; Ivan R., Halsted and Donald E., Garden City; three daughters, Mrs. Leah L. Armour, Wichita; Mrs. Velma Nelson, Winnemucca, Nevada, and Mrs. Vera Hege, Sedgwick; a sister, Mrs. Vida McDonald, Newton; 18 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

Services were held at the Methodist Church in Halstead with burial in Halstead Cemetery.
