Obituary

Nettie Augusta Hudson Martin, daughter of Ayrers and Alice Elsie Hudson, was born in Newton Falls, Ohio, January 12, 1858 and died June 2, 1937, at the age of 79 years, four months and twenty days.

She moved to Michigan in 1865 and it was there that she spent most of her childhood days. March 25, 1872 with her parents she settled in Newton, teaching the first term of school in District 42, April 1st, 1878. She lived in Newton during the hard times and the pioneer days, being active in Sunday school and church work all of her life.

On May 19, 1891, she was married to Abram Martin, making their home in Garden township. Her husband passed away April 8, 1917.

She leaves to mourn her loss, a sister, Mrs. Mary Noble of Newton, Frank Hudson of Burnham, Missouri, and a niece, Mrs. Corna Noble of this city.

Funeral service were conducted Friday afternoon, June 4, at two thirty, with Rev. S. W. Keller in charge of the service. Interment was in Greenwood cemetery
