Walter Buhler Enns, 87, a retired Newton teacher and athletic director, died Monday (Dec. 2, 1991) at Newton Medical Center.

A family graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. at Bethel College Church with Darrell Fast officiating.

Born Jan. 31, 1904, at Newton, he was the son of Peter W. and Elizabeth Buhler Enns. He married Florence Haury on Dec. 22, 1931, at Newton. She died Aug. 22, 1981. He was also a New York Life Insurance Underwriter.

He was a member of Bethel College Church, a Sunday school teacher, and a member of the Presbyterian Manor Men's Group and the Newton Chamber of Commerce.

He had lived in Newton most of his life.

Survivors include three daughters, Carol Haury Brubacher of Winfield, Rosalind Enns Andreas of Burlington, Va., and Ellen Haury Goering of Boulder, Colo.; a brother, Rudolph B. Enns of Newton.
