Kenneth Marti, 90, Topeka, died Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at his home.
Mr. Marti was a criminal investigator for the state from 1940 to 1956 and then sold insurance until he retired in the mid-1980s.
He was born May 24, 1911, in Newton, the son of William Adolph and Alta Showalter Marti.
Mr. Marti was a 60-year member of the First Baptist Church. He also served on the Shawnee County Civil Service Board from 1986 to 1994.
He married Grace Esther Kowalewski on Nov. 10, 1940, in Kansas City, Kan. She died June 30, 2001.
Survivors include two sons, William Marti, Arvada, Colo., and Phillip Marti, Topeka.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church. Entombment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Mr. Marti will lie in state after noon Friday at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
The family suggests memorial contributions to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 3033 S.W. MacVicar, Topeka, 66611.
