Corkill, James E.
Sedgwick Pantagraph
James Edward Corkillk age 79, farmer living south of Sedgwick, died in Axtell hospital Thursday night following a two-week illness.
Mr. Corkill was born in Villa, Illinois in 1871 and lived in the Sedgwick community the past 55 years. He was married to Cora Alice Dodson at Sedgwick Jan 4, 1898.
Survivors: his wife, Cora; daughters, Mrs. Hazel Johnson of Visalia, California; Mrs. Gladys Allen, Sedgwick and Mrs. Mildred (Walter) Jones of Wichita; sons, James Ross Corkill of Sedgwick and Paul Eugene Corkill, Valley Center; sisters, Mrs. Nellie Bender of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; Mrs. Bessie Van Vibber of Halstead, and brother, Robert Corkill, Towanda, Kansas. Four grandchildren also survive.
The body may be viewed at Craper funeral home all day Sunday. Funeral services will be conducted in the Christian Church in Sedgwick. Rev. G. R. Black officiating and burial will be in Sedgwick cemetery.
