Obituary

Nettie Myers Hanselman was born on August 25, 1879 to John and Florence Myers on the farm five miles southwest of Burrton, Kansas and departed this life on Sunday evening, Feb. 2, 1964, age 84 years, 5 months, 7 days. She spent most of her life on the farm homesteaded by her father in 1871. In 1900 she united in marriage to Williams Hayes Hansselman, who deparated this life April 11, 1948. To this union were born four children - three having preceded her to death, Waldo Herbert Hanselman, William Myers Hanselman and Wilma Gertrude Hanselman who was stillborn. Survivors: Daughter, Blanche M. Carmichael of Sedgwick, five grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren plus a host of friends who mourn her passing. She was a faithful member of the Burrton Christian Church and attended regularly until illness prevented her from doing so. In 1951 she moved her country home to Burrton where she resided until Nov. 19, 1963. On December 2 she transferred to the George's Nursing Home, McPherson, where she received loving care until her death. Funeral services were Tuesday aafternoon at the Burrton Christian Church with Rev. R. S. Fanestil in charge of the services. Burial was in the Burrton Cemetery.
