Francis Elizabeth Ayers was born at Egypt, Belmont County, Ohio August 25, 1858 and departed from this life on July 10. 1918 at the age of 59 years, 10 months, 24 days. Her intense affection for her family was very characteristic of her life, also her great love for flowers, she always seemed unable to destroy a single one, she lived among them, knowing their names and admiring and enjoying them to the fullest extent.
She joined the M.E. Church at age 12, living a deeply religious life. She was a great love and student of books and current literature, talking freely with her friends of the things she had read.
She came to Kanas with her father, John W. Ayers and family in 1877. She married David Hanselman on August 15, 1889. To this union was born two daughters, Francis Virginia Pinkston of Cedar Point, Kansas and Margaret Dorothy Simmons of Protection, Kansas, who with her aged husband, David and her brother Dr. S. F. Ayers of Tulsa, Oklahoma and sisters, Mrs. W. P. Osborne, Mrs. C. F. Iseman, Burrton and Mrs. E. Schlear of Dundee, Ohio, and many other friends and relatives survive her loss.
Funeral services were condcted by Rev. D. C. Shields assisted by Rev. W. T. Danner at the M.E. Church Sunday afternoon. Burial was in the Burrton cemetery.
