Marr, Lizzie J.

Lizzie Jane Hanselman was born August 11, 1867 in Brown Co., Indiana. She moved with her parents to Burrton, Kansas in 1872 when but 4 years of age, where she grew to womanhood. Her death ooccurred at the Methodist hospital, Feb. 19 from a complication of diseases. A small infection first appeared in her foot but little more than three weeks ago. She was removed to the hospital at that time and received treatment, but complications developed and she grew steadily worse despite the most favorable treatment. She was reared to womanhood near Burrton. She married W. W. Marr July 26, 1888 at Burrton.

To this union was born 3 daughters and one son. The daughters together with her husband and her father, David Hanselman, survive. They are Mrs. Laura Gresham of Sedgwick; Mrs. Anna Purcell and Alma Marr of Burrton. George, the son, having preceded her in infancy. She is also survived by one brother, William Hanselman of Burrton and two sisters, Mrs. Media Mardis of St. Louis, Missouri and Mrs. E. Pinkston of Cedar Point, Kansas and four grandchildren.

She united with the Christian Church when about 16 years of age and has ever lived a faithful Christian life to the time of her departure to be with her Savior. Her immortal spirit departed to be with God who gave it Feb. 19, 1921 at Hutchinson, Kansas, aged 48 years 6 months 8 days.

Funeral services were held from the Christian church Monday with Rev. S. E. Hendrickson conducting the services. Burial was in Burrton Cemetery.
