Obituary

Kansan, Wednesday, October 18, 1933

Mary and her family settled in the McLains community in 1911 arriving there from Erkrath, Germany. The family soon became associated with the affairs of the community and early showed their intention to carry their part in the responsibilities of their adopted country.


Mary Nellissen was born July 10, 1884 in Suechstein, Germany, and passed away October 14, 1933 at 7:15 a. m., at Bethel hospital at the age of 49 years, three months and four days.

On November 7, 1908 she was married to William Iserhardt at Erkrath, Germany. Three years later Mr.and Mrs.Iserhardt came to America, making Newton, Kansas their destination, and later the family moved on a farm in the McLains community.

She leaves to mourn her passing, four children, Paula, Ernest, Ralph and Ethel, all of the home and her husband, William Iserhardt. Three brothers, Adolph, Herman and John and one sister Wilhelmina, all living in Germany and one sister Mrs. John Goertz and one brother, Theadore Nellissen living here.
