Ogden, Emily

The Evening Kansan-Republican

Mrs. Emily Ogden

Funeral services marked with beautiful simplicity, were held at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Bethel Home for the Aged chapel for Mrs. Emily Ogden, who passed away at the Home on Saturday afternoon following a brief illness of pneumonia.

The chapel was filled with friends of the Home and those who came from Whitewater, her home before coming to Bethel to reside. A niece, Mrs. Anna Talkington and her family of Cedar Point were also present. Two aged sisters, Mrs. R. Neusbaum, of Marshall, Illinois, and Mrs. R. Bickman of Paris, California, were unable to come, owing to the infirmities of age.

There were many beautiful flowers, token of the esteem in which Mrs. Ogden was held by her many friends.

The Rev. Joseph E. Coe brought a comforting message from the Twenty-third Psalm and Mrs. C.N. Parsons and Mrs. E.C. Patterson sang several numbers, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Charles Bachmann. The Rev. J. M. Suderman offered prayer in the chapel and at the Bethel Home for the Aged lot in Greenwood cemetery, where burial was made.
