Wiley, Gene G.

Hutchinson News-Herald

Gene G. Wiley, 21, of 114 East Fourth, died in Grace hospital Monday after three weeks' illness with a throat and head infection. He received his discharge from the army in December after three years' service in Europe with a medical corps of the 75th division and returned to his work in the News-Herald mailing room in January. He was married January 11, to Opal Riggins of Chase.

Survivors are the widow, his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Hershel L. Wiley and a brother, Don Wiley, RFD 4 and his grandpaarents, Mr. & Mrs. N. P. Wiley of Burrton.

He was born Nov. 20. 1924 in Burrton and was a graduate of Buhler high school. He was a member of the Christian church at Burrton.

There will be a short service at the Johnson and Sons chapel at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday followed by a service at the Burrton Christian church. Rev. V. D. Love and Rev. Floyd Shively will officiate. Burial will be in the Burrton cemetery.
