Obituary

William Walker Marr was born in Warren County, Kentucky near Rocky Hill, Nov. 2, 1861 and passed away June 10. 1936. He died suddenly at his home in Halsteaad. Although he had been in poor health, his death was a shock to the community.

He grew to manhood in Kentucky and came to Kansas when about 21 years of age. He confessed Christ and became a Christian early in life.

He was united in marriage to Lizzie Jane Hanselman July 27, 1888. She preceded him in death Feb. 19, 1921. To this union were born four children: Laura, Anna, Alma and George who died in infancy.

He was united in marriage to Mrs. Laura B. Stone of Burrton on March 25, 1928.

He leaves to mourn his departure, his widow, Mrs. Laura Marr; three daughters, Mrs. Laura Gresham of Hutchinwon, Mrs. H. L. Purcell of Higgins, Texas and Mrs. Herschel Wiley of Burrton; three sisters and two brothers, all of whom live at the ancestral home in Kentucky; also seven grandchildren.
