Stone, Austin

Austin "Punk" Stone, 75, died Saturday September 18, 1895 at the Axtell Hospital in Newton following a lengthy illness. He was born in Burrton on September 23, 1895 and married Docia Carmichael on January 3, 1920 in Hutchinson.
Punk was a retired service station operator and a life-long resident of the Burrton community. He was a member of the Methodist Church, the American Legion, and a veteran of World War I.
Survivors: the widow, Docia; son, Bernard and dauaghter Mrs. Leon (Barbaba) Hoskinson, both of Burrton; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted from the Burrton United Methodist Church Sept. 20. Burial was in the Burrton Cemetery.
