Obituary

Edward L. McNeill, 102, died May 5, 2006 at Sweet Life at Rose Hill Nursing Home, Shawnee, Kansas. He was born Nov. 24, 1902 at Graves County, Illinois, son of Hector L. & Ruby McNeill. He received his degrees from Wichita State University and a master's degree from Oklahoma State University. He was a school administrator and Superintendent at Elkhart, Kansas, Guymon, Oklahoma and Cherokee, Okla. He retired as Director of Operations for the Topeka Public schools in 1972.

He belonged to First Christian Church, Topeka; and Maxon Christian Church, West Paducah, Kentucky. On April 26, 1926 he married Ruby Frances Carmichael at Paducah, Kentucky. She died May 17, 19993. Survivors: three sons, Neil and his wife, Betty, Overland Park; Mack and his wife, Beverly, Albuquerque N.M.; and Ken and his wife Freda, Rogers, Arkansas, daughter, Monita Timmons and here husband George, Prescott, Arizona; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchileren; and five great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters.

Graveside services were held at Burrton Cemetery.
