Obituary

Mrs. Mary Dewater, 83, who had been living recently with her son in Hutchinson, died Monday evening at Broadacres. She had been ill four weeks.

Mrs. DeWater was born on a farm south of Lawrence, Kansas and moved to Burrton with her family in 1879. She was the last surviving charter member of the Pleasant Grove EUB Church where funeral services were held. Burial was in the Burrton Cemetery.

Survivors: two sons, Ralph, Hutchinson and John, Wichita; one sister, Mrs. Lucy Matlack, Hutchinson; brother, John Carmichael, Arlington, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
