Obituary

Verna Lois DeWater, 84, South Hutchinson, died May 6, 1997 at Mennonite Friendship Manor. She was born August 17,1912 in Reno County, daughter of Claude and Edith Eales Dressler. A graduate of Hutchinson High School and a longtime resident of Hutchinson and Burrton, she was a homemaker.

She was a member of South Hutchinson United Methodist Church.

On August 31, 1931 she married Ralph DeWater at Hutchinson. He died April 20, 1990. Survivors include a son, Russell "Bud" DeWater, South Hutchinson; daughter, Janice L. Frye, South Hutchinson; a brother, J. B. Dressler, Dodge City; sister, June Whittle, Hutchinson, nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; She was preceded in death by two infant sons.

Funeral will be at South Hutchinson United Methodist with Pastor Tom D. Sheldon presiding. Burial will be in Burrton Cemetery.
