Koehn, Charles

Longtime president of Koehn and Associates, Inc. S/O Robert Cecil Koehn and Lucille Marie (Farwell) Koehn They preceded him in death. He graduated from Dyersburg, Tennessee High School in 1948, the University of Illinois in Architectural Engineering in 1953, and attended graduate school there. He served two years as an officer in the United States Air Force. He was a Newton resident since 1956. Among his many Civic, Service, Church and Professional organizational achievements were Distinguished Service Awards from both Newton and State Junior Chamber of Commerce, President of Inryco Builder's National Dealers Advisory Council, President of Associated General Contractors of Kansas, President of the Newton Area Chamber of Commerce, Lifetime National Director of Associated General Contractors of America, Senior Warden, Junior Warden, treasurer, and the founder of the Operational Endowment Fund at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, setting up and starting the Newton Area Jobs Development Council and Harvey County Builders Association, and a member of the Hesston College President's Advisory Council. He was named the Newton Area Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the year in 1999. He was an avid golfer and follower of his grandchildren's activities.
