Obituary

Mrs. Nellie L. Hege, 95, Newton, a former Halstead resident and mother of Harold Hege, rural Sedgwick, died Tuesday, Feb 28, 1984 at Axtell Christian Hospital in Newton. She was born March 27, 1888 in Gordon, Nebraska to Abraham and Rosetta Viersen. She married John Daniel Hege Nov. 26, 1908 in Greensburg, akansas. He died June 12, 1978.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, Newton, and the Halstead chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors: son, Harold, Sedgwick; Kenneth, Bella Vista, Arkansas; two daughters, Mrs. Lois L. Griffith, Wichita and Mrs. Ruby Blankenship, Fresno, California; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Zella M. Richey.

Services were held Friday, March 2 at the Draper-Cannon Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rollin Hole. Burial was in the Halstead cemetery.
