Obituary

Funeral services for Daniel J. Hege, who passed away July 14th were conducted from the Funeral Chapel on Monday, July 16 with Rev. Logan Martin, pastor of the First Christian chutch of Newton officiating. He was laid to rest in the family lot in the Halstead cermetery.

He was born May 22, 1869 near West Point, Iowa. He deparated this life at the farm home near Halstad, July 14, 1945.

In early life he united with the Mennonite Church of West Point, Iowa. From youth, he was very much interested in the Bible, becoming a very close student of the Bible from middle age until the end.

At the age of 30 years, he began the study of Osteopathy; graduating and becoming a practicing physician during the remainder of his life. He always said that all healing is of God. All I can do is to relieve the cause. If my patient gets well, the Glory belongs to God.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Mother, one sister, Barbara and one brother Jacob. He is survived by his sisters, Mary and Christina and one brother, Peter, all of the home place east of Halstead. Also by three nephews and three nieces.
