Obituary

John C. Elliott, 91, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 1979 at the Halstead Hospital. He was born January 9, 1887 at Poland, Indiana. He married Olion Hunt. She died in 1945. He married Janice Viersen Keener November 9, 1947 at Halstead. He was a retired real estate and insurance agent. He lived in Halstead since 1928.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, O.E.S.,all of Halstead.

Survivors: his wife, Janice, one son, Charles, Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan; one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Mary Podlich, Tempe, Arizona; three sisters, Mrs. Betty McCabe, Mrs. Billy Mae Marts and Mrs. Neva Bookwalter, all of Wichita; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. One daughter, Mrs. Ethelyn Magruder, preceded her father in death on February 6,1976,

Services were held at the church with the Rev. John H. Hastings conducting. Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery.
