Charles R. (Chuck) Hege, 69, brother of Robert P. Hege and Mrs. Richard (Faye) Urick, both of Halstead, died Friday July 21, 1978 at Axtell Christian Hospital.
He was born June 7, 1909 at Halstead, son of Carl F. Hege and Pearl Rand Hege. He married Minnie M. Giersch April 17, 1931 at Halstead. He was a retired truck driver for Wilson Freight Co. He was a member of the Foursuare Church and a 30 year member of the Eagles.
Other survivors include his wife, two sons, Donald Gene and Richard R., both of Newton; seven daughters, Betty Lou Lea, Phoenix. Arizona; Mrs. Joe (Mary Alice) Zimmer, Kisslmee, Florida; Mrs. Fred (Delores) Sexauer, DeSota, Texas; Mrs. John (Charlene) Riedlinger, Spearville, Kansas; Mrs. Robert (Elsie Kay) Challans, Salina, Kansas; Mrs. Chris (Ruth Ann) Cole, Tuscon, Arizona; and Linda Diane Hege, Newton; two other sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Elizabeth) Weber, Wichita; and Mrs. John (Kay) Ibe, Burbank, California; 25 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. One son, Kenneth Earl Hege preceded him in death.
Services were held Tudsday morning, July 25, at Draper-Cannon Chapel, Newton with the Rev. Larry Thompson conducting. Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery.
