Obituary

Ruth J. Hinshaw, 79, Lyndon, a former Halstead resident, died April 28, 1985 at Hill Top Nursing home, Lyndon, Kansas

She was born July 22, 1905 at Vassar, Kansas, daughter of O. W. and Lucy Miller. She married Mylo Rand. He died February 21, 1948. She married Orris L. Hinshaw in May of 1954 at Halstead. He died November 11, 1972. She was a retired elementary school teacher and had been a resident of Halstead before moving to Lyndon several years ago.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Halstead. Survivors: four stepdaughters; Mary Jane Dodge, Halstead; Sarah Suenram, Enterprise, Kansas; Elizabeth Evans, Westminister, Colorado; and Rita Masters, Tulsa, Oklahoma; one sister, Edna Miller, Lyndon; and ten step-grandchildren.

Services were held at the church with burial in the Halstead Cemetery.
